Used the app during travel in southern China. Using maps from G****, which seem to be un-calibrated ~400 m offset :-(  A possibility for setting an offset would be really nice.

Was ist los mit OMM? Der Blog ist uralt, der Server blockiert. Wird das Produkt noch gepflegt? Ich habe bezahlt, wenig genutzt und nun wird es mir blockiert wegen "overuse"??? Und leider gibt es auch keine vernünftige Anleitung, wie man komplettes Kartenmaterial downloaden kann, damit man auch offline arbeiten kann. Wie kann ich die Blockierung aufheben?

ich habe die aktuelle version von der homepage runtergeladen. leider kann ich auch nach registrierung nicht zu deutsch wechseln, da das auswahlmenü nur englisch verzeichnet. ausserdem nervt das programm weiter mit registrierungsaufforderungen ...

Würde gern die Booksmarks auslesen, aber das xml scheint kein verwendetes Programm zu verstehen. önnte man die Bookmarks nicht einfach als KML oder GPX speichern? Noch eine Idee... Ein dynamischer Zoom in Abhängigkeit von der aktuellen Geschwindigkeit. Der Nutzer könnte die Zuordnung zwischen Zoom-Stufe und Geschwindigkeitsbereich selber einstellen. Ich bin zusehens begeistert von diesem Programm. Weiter so!

Spitzen Programm! wäre es denkbar das Kartenmaterial als Zip-Archiv zu speichern?  Das würde die Speichereffizienz erhöhen, da für eine 1kB Kachel nicht 4kB aufgrund der Blockgröße vom FAT Dateisystemstem, verbraucht werden. Grüße Martin?

Das Freischalten wird von mir persönlich erledigt und hängt natürlich davon ab, wann ich zu Hause vor dem PC sitze. Ich bemühe mich es sehr schnell zu realisieren. Bei Feiertagen oder Urlaub kann es aber dennoch zu längeren Wartezeiten kommen. - RC

I use OpenMobileMaps with SD card formatted in FAT32. Many tiles (downloaded from PC) are smaller than filesystem cluster size, so lots of diskspace is lost. May be you can add possibility to work with compressed tilesets? E.g. each folder that contain only tiles (no subfolders) is compressed in separate archive (not solid, compresssion level = 0 - only to save space)

OMM is freeware. You can use it as long as you want to. The most important features are working. The only features that doesn't work are the ones that need my webservice. Are you planning to make a Windows Mobile Standard (non touch) version of the application? It would be great... I have a Samsung sgh-i200 (Windows Mobile 6.1 standard) and it raises an exception when trying to run the application. I just noticed that OMM 1.4.3816.9028 creates a new (empty) folder in ommcache if zooming to a tile not yet in cache, but download is disabled. Bei ersten Starten von OMM hast Du festgelegt, wo die Karten gespeichert werden sollen. OMM hat einen Ordner "osmcache" angelegt. In diesen Ordner legst Du die Veizeichnisse 1, 2, 3, ..., 17, 18 (darin sollten jeweils die *.png Dateien liegen). Fertig. Schon kannst Du auf die Karten zugreifen. Gruß mobiljoe

VIELEN DANK AN DEN ENTWICKLER! bezüglich der kleinen Kartenbeschriftung kann ich das Programm Zooomer empfehlen. Damit kann man den Kartenausschnitt 2-fach vergrößern. Trotzdem wäre eine OMM-integrierte Vergrößerungsmöglichkeit wünschenswert.

das liegt daran, dass in der suche der eintrag "city" und nicht "town" ausgewertet wird. unter city steht dann halt koblenz und als town ist aber richtigerweise Neuwied eingetragen. es wird nur nicht angezeigt. ;)

Nein, OpenMobileMaps ist nicht dafür gedacht primär als Navisoftware zu dienen. Es ist mehr als ein Atlas im Handy zu sehen mit ein paar netten Zusatzfeatures.

"alle" kann nicht sein. Die Menüs und Schaltflächen passen sich den Windows Mobile Einstellungen an. Es können nur die Kartenbeschriftungen gemeint sein. und die kann ich nicht beeinflussen. openstreetmaps liefert keine extra-großen beschriftungen aus.

OMM uses nominatim for searching addresses. Try to search on http://nominatim.openstreetmap.org/ and find out how you should format your address so that you get results. it may be that your address isn't in the database, yet.
